Hey friends! Your editor-in-chief Amanda here and today I wanted to take a little break from pretty photos and talk with all of your creatives out there! Owning your own business is hard and sometimes you want to do more to be inclusive, diverse, accepting...but don't know how! And since this month we are featuing exclusively LGBTQ content, I wanted to take a moment and tell you about a resource you should check out to help you better serve LGBTQ couples!
[un]convention is a one day workshop taking place in Richmond, Virgina that was created to discuss feminism, racial diversity, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and intersectionality for the wedding industry and beyond. It is put on by the amazing folks at Catalyst Wedding Co (whom we adore!!) and it is full of workshops, panelists, community building and even a kick ass cocktail party to end the day! It is so important to learn from people who are not just saying, but who are also doing and I would say that is true of these folks! One of our favorite photogs (we love you Cassandra Zetta!) is even a workshop leader!
One of the things I love most though is that this education convention doesn't just talk about diversity, it actually represents it. They have POC, LGBTQ, and more women than men speakers, and it is SO refreshing to see educational spaces like that! And did we mention you can learn from some seriously incredible people for less than $300 + get to hang out at incredible cocktail hour? Yup! We even have a code to save 10%! So click on over to their website, give them a follow on FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM and then buy your ticket! We promise, you won't regret it! And use the code TANTAMOUNTLOVE10 at checkout to save 10%!!!
